Gita AI ("we", "our", or "the app") is an Android application that helps users find relevant verses from the Bhagavad Gita based on their personal situations. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Information We Collect

• Google Account information — when you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo via Firebase Authentication. This is used solely to identify your account within the app.
• Questions you ask — the text you type is sent to Google's Gemini API to generate a relevant Gita verse and guidance. We do not store your questions on our servers. A local history is kept on your device only.
• Payment information — if you subscribe, payments are processed by Razorpay. We receive a payment confirmation ID only. We never see or store your card details.
• Usage data — daily query count and subscription status are stored locally on your device (SharedPreferences). This data is not transmitted to us.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To authenticate your account and maintain your session
• To generate personalised Gita verse responses via the Gemini API
• To verify and manage your subscription status
• We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes

3. Third-Party Services

The app uses the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

• Firebase Authentication — Google LLC
• Google Gemini API — Google LLC
• Razorpay — Razorpay Software Pvt. Ltd.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your personal data (name, email) is stored securely by Firebase Authentication and is subject to Google's security standards. Local app data (history, bookmarks, settings) is stored only on your device and is not backed up to cloud services. All network communication uses HTTPS.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time by signing out and uninstalling the app. To request deletion of your Firebase account data, contact us at the email below and we will process your request within 30 days.

6. Children's Privacy

Gita AI is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
